You're about to release your brand new album entitled "Wie's Bang" very soon, tell us a bit about the album, what can fans expect from the album? Some of the same full on, no holds barred, melt your face Rock & Roll or are there some surprises?

Ja, the album is full of surprises. After Jedd and Jason joined the band we have so many more options and can do so much more, cause they are really good. There is obviously our normal balls to the wall Rock 'n Roll on the album, but we tried to write a wide variety of songs. Songs at different tempo's and in different keys etc. So, we wrote a great ballad for the first time. There is some mellow tunes on the album. Overall, we think it is a great listening experience.

While there is no doubt, that Van Coke Kartel have upped their game to a whole new level since the addition of the extremely talented Jedd and Jason, the band is fronted by two of SA's most well known faces in Wynand Myburgh and Francois Van Coke. Is it ever intimidating getting on a stage with 2 guys that have built up such an extreme following?

These guys don't answer interviews, they are lazy. I am sure they are intimidated playing with me and Wynand. haha.

Having got married, less than a month ago, Wynand is the first of the guys in the band to tie the knot, does this mean Van Coke Kartel are slowly settling down, one by one or do you think you guys will be rockers till the day you die, and your kids will carry on the legacy?

We might be settling down, but we can't just change and take a office job tomorrow. I think we love playing music and will be playing music in some shape or form for years to come.

Even though VCK are essentially an Afrikaans alternative rock group, you guys seem to appeal to a much wider market, having toured much of the world, Including Argentina, England and Holland, what do you think it is about VCK that cuts through the language barrier and appeals to such a wide crowd?

I am into a couple of bands that get it right to transcend the language barrier. Rammstein, Sigur Ros, Die Antwoord & Stuurbaard Bakkebaard. I think it is possible to get into music where you don't understand the lyrics. We pride ourselves in being a good live experience and hopefully that will help people feel what we are about.

What can we expect from you as a headlining act at this year's ULTRAFEST and in general for that matter, will fans be able to buy the new album yet?

A great and energetic live show, we will be playing songs from WIE'S BANG live for the first time. So, it is also very exciting for us. The CD will be on sale for the first time at Ultrafest.
